Common App Essay. Hi all! I plan on writing my common app essay this summer (starting it soon) + was looking for help with it. (I am willing to pay for help if needed). I feel really stuck with finding something to write about. I really don’t have too many exciting things that happened in my life.
23 de jun. de 2021 · in my experience, the QB app fit me better than the common app. i think it comes down to which facet of your app is stronger: writing/essays or ECs. if writing is a strength of yours, you may be better off with the QB app. if ECs depict you better (re: you have more than 6), go with the common app. since i live in a rural/under-resourced area ...
15 de sept. de 2022 · First things first, the additional information section isn’t part of your “formal application.”. So by that principle, you shouldn’t upload a long-ass essay. Anything you put in this section should be concise and descriptive. This is NOT a place to unspool a narrative that resembles your personal or supplemental essays.
14 de nov. de 2023 · So people have been talking about how if you say that you spend more than 25 hours a week on extracurriculars in the Common App, then AO's get suspicious. How do I do the math to calculate this? Right now I've multiplied the hours spent per week and the number of weeks, added that together for every activity, and then divided the number by 52.
No, you can only do 20 on common app, there is no way around it. You can use the coalition app at schools that accept it and individual school apps at schools that have their own. Personally, I found the limit of 20 on the common app a good way to be forced to limit the schools that I applied to. Don’t do multiple Common app accounts, get 1 ...
9 de may. de 2020 · YES! These count! Personally, I put family responsibilities as the 1st activity in my common app (I have a situation similar to yours). I really think that helped to add context to my application and presented me in the truest light.
28 de oct. de 2021 · This is more of a “how do I word things so they don’t sound so dumb in my activities section on common app” type of question. Am I the only one struggling with this? It seems harder than the supplementals to be honest, but maybe I’m just overthinking it
11 de oct. de 2022 · STEP FOUR: Decide the order you want to show them on Common App. It’s kind of sad to think about, but still think about it like this: they might not finish, or they might get bored, or their cat might jump on their keyboard and make them lose their screen, or they might get frightened by a zombie at the door and spill their coffee.

5 de feb. de 2022 · When the common app asked me if I wanted to report my SAT score, I said yes. It then made me put in the math, reading and writing, and essay score. The problem is, my testing site never gave me the essay portion of the SAT. The essay score is a required section of the application so I don’t know what to put in. 3.
