El estado del Delta es uno de los treinta y seis estados pertenecientes a la República Federal de Nigeria.
Delta State is a state in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Named after the Niger Delta —a large part of which is in the state—the state was formed from the former Bendel State, on 27 August 1991.

The Niger Delta, as now defined officially by the Nigerian government, extends over 70,000 km 2 (27,000 sq mi) and makes up 7.5% of Nigeria's land mass. Historically and cartographically, it consists of present-day Bayelsa , Delta , and Rivers States .
