Released after a five-year hiatus, The Strokes' fourth album Angles (2011) became their third consecutive LP to chart at number four on the Billboard 200. Its 2013 follow-up Comedown Machine reached number ten on both the U.S. and British charts. In 2016 the Strokes released their second EP, Future Present Past.

The Strokes released their debut album, Is This It, in the US in October 2001. The album was produced by Gordon Raphael, as was their follow-up album Room On Fire. [6] RCA Records delayed the North American (US) release over concerns with the album's cover and lyrics.
