The House of Windsor is a British royal house, and currently the reigning house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. The royal house's name was inspired by the historic Windsor Castle estate.
24 de may. de 2024 · House of Windsor, the royal house of the United Kingdom, which succeeded the house of Hanover on the death of its last monarch, Queen Victoria, on January 22, 1901. The dynasty includes Edward VII (reigned 1901–10), George V (1910–36), Edward VIII (1936), George VI (1936–52), Elizabeth II (1952–2022), and Charles (from 2022).

23 de ago. de 2023 · The Windsors began when Edward, the eldest son of the last Hanover monarch, Queen Victoria, inherited the crown and the royal line changed over to the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (from his father, Prince Albert). As World War One broke out in 1914, Britain, Russia, and Germany's monarchs were closely related.
The House of Windsor, the royal house of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms, includes the male-line descendants of Queen Victoria who are subjects of the Crown (1917 Order-in-Council) and the male-line descendants of Queen Elizabeth II (1952 Order-in-Council).
