  3. This year’s Plastic Free July campaign focuses on small changes each of us can make to reduce plastic waste under the slogan “Small steps, big difference”. Each year millions of Plastic Free July participants from over 190 countries worldwide are together making a big difference by choosing to refuse single-use plastic.

  4. Campaigns. Inspire others to get involved with plastic waste solutions by creating your own event at work, school or out in the community. New to Plastic Free or next-level, there are fun ideas and resources below to help along the way.

  5. Plastic Free July. The Plastic Free July campaign began in 2011 as a small initiative with just a handful of participants in Western Australia, but has grown to millions of people across 170 countries. The challenge is, as the name implies, not to use any plastic in July, but the supporting resources are available to access any time.

  6. In 2022, Plastic Free July was marked worldwide by a record 140 million participants making conscious changes and reducing their waste by 2.6 million tonnes – that’s the equivalent of around 13 thousand blue whales.
