2 de oct. de 2021 · The web page lists the illegal stamps issued by Sahara Republic, a fictitious entity, and the UPU circulars that condemn them. It also provides some information on the producer and the dossier of the counterfeits.
Stamps inscribed REPUBLICA SAHARAUI Have been denounced by the Morrocco postal administration as illegal since the year 2000 when they first found out about them being sold on the philatelic market. The circulars are No.129 in 2000, No.414 in 2002, No.69 in 2004 and No.71 in 2008.
Stamps marked República Saharaui (Saharan Republic), Sahara Occidental (Western Sahara) or Sahara Occ. R.A.S.D. relate to the disputed region of Western Sahara occupied by Morocco. The Moroccan post office, in a Universal Postal Union circular, has stated that they do not regard these stamps as legitimate. [10]
16 de oct. de 2023 · Morocco has administered most of the Western Sahara since, so postal services from the country are currently Moroccan. Meanwhile, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic has issued stamps, likely in a publicity move. So, their stamps fall into the cinderella category since they apparently do not do postal duty.
The stamps of Spanish Sahara have been superseded by those of Morocco. Stamps have appeared inscribed ‘Republica Saharaui’, ‘Sahara Occidental’ or ‘Sahara Occ. R.A.S.D.’ – presumably issued by the SADR government in exile. These are not listed in the catalogs.
8 de abr. de 2009 · Besides Somali Republic (see yesterdays blog entry), Sahara OCC R.A.S.D (or officially République Arabe Saharouie Démocratique – Arab Republic of Western Sahara) is one of the most common sources of modern topical bogus / cinderella stamps.. None of the RASD issues have postal validity anywhere. At best, they can be considered as local propaganda labels or cinderella issues.
