NORAD es el acrónimo de North American Aerospace Defense Command (Mando Norteamericano de Defensa Aeroespacial). Se trata de una organización conjunta de Canadá y los Estados Unidos que provee de defensa y control aéreo a Canadá y al área continental de los Estados Unidos.
Norad is a government agency that administers Norway's development aid. It supports projects and programmes in 100 countries, and provides information on funding, results, statistics and publications.
NORAD was renamed North American Aerospace Defense Command in March 1981. Post–Cold War. In 1989, NORAD operations expanded to cover counter-drug operations, for example, tracking of small aircraft entering and operating within the United States and Canada. DEW line sites were replaced between 1986 and 1995 by the North Warning System.
