Leonard Chess was a Polish American record executive and the co-founder of Chess Records. He was probably most famous for discovering, producing and promoting Etta James. He was instrumental in helping her career take off and it was widely believed that he had a deep admiration for her. Chess supported Etta James and Leonard chess in multiple ways.
