J. Michael Bishop is University Professor, Director Emeritus of the G.W. Hooper Research Foundation and Chancellor Emeritus at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Michael was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania, and educated at Gettysburg College, Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital.
