19 de abr. de 2023 · The Young and Burgess classification is a modification of the earlier Tile classification 1. It is the recommended 5 and most widely used classification system for pelvic ring fractures. It takes into account force type, severity, and direction, as well as injury instability.

Open book pelvic injuries result from an anteroposterior compression injury to the pelvis and result in a combination of ligamentous rupture and/or fractures to both the anterior and posterior arches 5: anterior arch: pubic diastasis (+/- sacrotuberous / sacrospinous ligamentous disruption) and/or pubic rami fractures.
Tabla 1. Complicaciones de las fracturas pélvicas. NUESTRA EXPERIENCIA . Desde 2007 se han estudiado 59 fracturas de pelvis mediante TCMD en nuestro centro. El 33% fueron tipo A. El 10% fueron tipo B. El 57% fueron tipo C. En cuanto al mecanismo de producción, el 20% se trataba de pacientes precipitados, siendo de éstos el 83% fracturas tipo C.

A pesar de los avances en urgencias, radiodiagnóstico, traumatología y UCI que han aumentado la supervivencia de esta entidad en la última década, la mortalidad y la morbilidad siguen manteniéndose significativamente altas.
