11 de abr. de 2018 · Wheeler’s first biography of an Adventist leader in the early period of Adventist history appeared in 2003: James White: Innovator and Overcomer. The book was based on meticulous research and gave an honest, and at times quite astonishing, picture of James White, the husband of Ellen G. White.
Before 1870 ended, these zealous women, aided again by Stephen Haskell and James and Ellen White, formed the New England Tract and Missionary Society. The idea caught on like wildfire in dry stubble.
Stephen Nelson Haskell (April 22, 1833 – October 9, 1922) was an evangelist, missionary and editor in the Seventh-day Adventist Church who became one of the pioneers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific.
Haskell also considered himself her spokesperson (206), although he could go too far at times by advocating for a rigid view of Inspiration that placed Ellen G. White as an infallible interpreter of Scripture (208, 255).
