Drayton es el padre de la familia Sawyer. Se trata del padre de Leatherface, que trabaja como dueño de un restaurante de chili y es aclamado por el excelente sabor de su carne, aunque nadie sospecha que se trate de carne humana.

Chop-Top, Nubbins' twin brother, and Vietnam War veteran. Leatherface, the youngest brother but the biggest physically due to his diagnosis of acromegaly.
The battle between the Sawyers and Lefty reaches a climax when a hand grenade, accidentally set off by Drayton, explodes and kills Grandpa, Lefty, Drayton and possibly Leatherface, as well as presumably destroying the puppet-like corpse of the Hitchhiker.

His brothers are killed in the original film's continuity. However, In Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986), Robert "Bobby" Sawyer, better known as "Chop Top," is introduced as another one of Leatherface's brothers.
