White was selected 29th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2017 NBA draft. In February 2022, he was traded to the Celtics, becoming a key contributor when they reached the 2022 NBA Finals. White became a starter during the 2022–23 season and reached his second NBA finals in 2024.
