Damnation is the seventh studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth. It was released on 22 April 2003, five months after Deliverance, which was recorded at the same time. Damnation is the last Opeth album to date to be produced by Steven Wilson although he did mix two future albums, Heritage and Pale Communion.

I've never really understood what the Damnation album cover is, but it looks like it would hide something creepy, like a monster under that desk or something. Does anyone know what the cover is or if it has any secrets?
The Deliverance cover is a much darker image, and I have trouble making out the details. Is there information about that cover that might help explain the Damnation cover?
Damnation es el séptimo álbum del grupo sueco Opeth. Damnation es la contraparte del álbum anterior, Deliverance, puesto que se encamina totalmente al rock progresivo y acústico sin elementos de death metal, rememorando el progresivo de los años 70.
22 de abr. de 2003 · Opeth's first progressive rock album, which lacks the death metal overdubs and extreme metal influences. This album was supposed to be released together with "Deliverance", but Music For Nations decided to delay "Damnation" for a couple of months. First pressing came in a digipak.
These are essentially the same cover, just with a different filter or something over it. They both work, and I don't really have much of a preference
