When Dazai caught up to Oda's location, he arrived at the sight of Oda and André Gide having shot each other. This was the only moment in the series where Dazai showed immense grief and horror as Oda laid dying.

Trivia. If Oda were still alive, he would have been 27 years old. In real life, Sakunosuke Oda is often grouped with Osamu Dazai and Ango Sakaguchi as the Buraiha or Decadent School. This is alluded to in the series, as the three used to meet occasionally at night in Bar Lupin outside their work.
