18 de sept. de 2021 · Tras sus exitosos carteles para la famosa actriz Sarah Bernhardt, Alphonse Mucha, considerado uno de los mayores exponentes del "art noveau", inundó Europa con sus hermosos carteles en tonos pastel, en los que mostraba a sensuales mujeres rodeadas de una frondosa y exquisita naturaleza.
La Plume. (1897) Created in 1889 by the writer Léon Deschamps, La Plume was a monthly publication featuring poems, short stories, exhibition reviews and illustrations by avant-garde artists. It counted Bonnard, Grasset, Toulouse-Lautrec and Ensor among its contributors.
The majestic beauty of the woman is emphasised by her regal bearing and elaborate jewellery. The striking design of the Zodiac calendar quickly attracted the attention of Léon Deschamps, chief editor of La Plume; he bought the rights to distribute it as the magazine's calendar for 1897.
