  3. The counselor letter of recommendation highlights a student's accomplishments within the context of their high school. The letter should come from a student’s school counselor, college counselor, principal, or headmaster.

  4. There are two parts to your Cornell application - the general Common Application and the Cornell University Writing Supplement, which is also completed through Common App. Give yourself enough time before the application deadline to complete both.

  5. You can easily check the status of your application materials by logging into your ApplyWeb account and viewing the checklist on your personal activity page. Your field will update your checklist as they receive and process your materials.
