The Master of Music (M.M.) degree program is the largest at the School of Music, with approximately 70 percent of students enrolled. It is a two-year program for students who hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any major and seek a master’s degree in their area of specialty.
One of the seven original liberal arts, music maintains a place in the university as a subject of broad and passionate interest to composers, historians, ethnomusicologists, performers, and theorists. At Yale, all of these form a community dedicated to furthering a knowledge and love of music.
