Wentworth Military Academy and College was a private two-year military college and high school in Lexington, Missouri, one of six military junior colleges in the United States. The institution was founded in 1880 and closed in 2017.

Wentworth Military Academy was started in the river town of Lexington, MO in 1880. Steeped in history of river traffic along the Missouri River Bluffs. Rich in Civil War history, the brainchild of Stephen G. Wentworth, Wentworth, a school for young men, came to be.

In 1882 Wentworth became a military school, with a name change to Wentworth Military Academy in 1890. At that time it was a small school with 80 cadets listed in the catalog. Students had a choice of three courses of study—classical, business, and elective.
