The Philipps University of Marburg (German: Philipps-Universität Marburg) is a public research university located in Marburg, Germany. It was founded in 1527 by Philip I, Landgrave of Hesse, which makes it one of Germany's oldest universities and the oldest still operating Protestant university in the world.
La Universidad de Marburgo ( en alemán: Philipps-Universität Marburg) es una universidad de Alemania fundada en 1527 por Felipe I de Hesse (habitualmente llamado el Magnánimo, aunque también se le conoce como el 'arrogante'), lo que la convierte en la primera y más antigua universidad protestante del mundo.
La Philipps-Universität Marburg o la Universidad Philipps de Marburgo es una de las universidades más antiguas de toda Alemania, pues fue fundada en 1527 por el Landgrave de Hesse, Felipe I. En sus inicios era la mayor universidad protestante, pero hoy día no cuenta con ningún tipo de afiliación religiosa.
