14 de may. de 2019 · In their simplest form, traffic signals are a set of three lights facing each lane of an intersection. When the light is green, that lane has the right-of-way to cross. When the light is red, they don’t. The amber light warns that the signal is about to change from green to red.
In traffic engineering, there are regional and national variations in traffic light operation. This may be in the standard traffic light sequence (such as the inclusion of a red-amber phase) or by the use of special signals (such as flashing amber or public transport signals).
