13 de jun. de 2023 · Para repasar, el segundo condicional tiene la siguiente forma: If + pasado simple, would + infinitivo. O bien, al revés: Would + infinitivo if + pasado simple. El pasado simple en estos casos no se refiere al pasado literal, sino a la idea hipotética del verbo. Así es como el subjuntivo en español.

Second conditional questions are used to ask about hypothetical or imaginary situations that are unlikely to happen. For example, the question “If you won the lottery, what would you do?” is talking about a very unlikely situation (winning the lottery) and is asking you to imagine what you would do in that situation.
