About. The Ohio Northern University Marching Band was organized in 1890 through the school's military department. Early on, the band played for military events and special university functions. The marching band was not active with athletic events until the early 1900's.

For 46 years, some of the finest high school musicians in the state of Ohio have come to Ohio Northern for the Spring Band Festival.
Performance opportunities abound. We offer choral ensembles, bands, a full symphony orchestra, chamber music groups, a pit orchestra and more. Many of these groups travel nationally and internationally to places like New York City, China, Germany, Rome and New Zealand. In addition, you can’t beat our facilities.
