From what I know, ‘Mirai Nikki’ season 2 was never even planned at all because the end of the series is quite conclusive and pretty much all the unanswered questions of season 1 are answered in the OVA that serves as an epilogue. Though there may still be some hope for a sequel, I’m very doubtful about its possibilities.
Story is end. It could be prequel, which would show us, what happend in world 1.etc. The OVA was released in 2013. However it’s not impossible for a season 2. The writer has expressed some interest in creating more Mirai Nikki content however it wouldn’t be anytime soon.
