El Himalaya (del sánscrito हिमालय, himālaya [pr. jimaalaia], donde hima, ‘nieve’, y ālaya, ‘morada’, ‘lugar’) es una cordillera situada en el continente asiático, y se extiende por varios países: Bután, Nepal, China, Birmania, India y Pakistán.
