There are five different colors of gems in the game. They each have a distinctive shape that grows progressively intricate as they increase in value rating. Combining 3 gems of the same color (1 or 2 in the early dungeons) in a totem yields a Potion according to the color of those gems.
Unique Gems are gems that can only be earned during weekly Challenges, Events and through opening Spheres. They are stored in your treasure hall and cannot be stolen. You can use unique gems and emeralds in order to learn spells in the ancient totem.
The Gem Mine is a feature found on the World Map that produces Gems for the player over different periods of time. Every section of the map contains one gem mine, totaling 7 Gem Mines that can be unlocked.
