DEX and DAINA were given the theme, 'The Fox and the Hound', at the suggestion of Lupin. They were intended to be counterparts that complement each other. DEX was based on the Hound character of the story and has more "wolf"-like traits. Lupin said that DEX and DAINA were a pair, but were not twins.
Despite this, they produce HQ results, but DEX has a higher quality than DAINA. DEX is a lot louder than other Engloid and may overpower his counterpart DAINA. He shares the same problems to AVANNA, to know, loud consonants.

Lupin stated that he thought DAINA was what Zero-G wanted to achieve with SONiKA. He also noted that DEX and DAINA were a pair, but not twins.
Dex. Dex is a male American-accented Vocaloid by Zero-G, and partner to Daina, based on a hound theme and pop-orientation. In March 2015, Zero-G stated that they hoped to release an American male and female VOCALOID4 by the end of May, but delays pushed the release of Dex back to November 20, 2015.
