Derrick McKenzie (27 de marzo de 1964, Londres) es un músico inglés, integrante de la banda Jamiroquai, al mando de la batería. Biografía. Nacido en Inglaterra en el 1964, desde muy pequeño conoció el mundo de la batería ya que con 6 años empezó a tocarla.
biography. Derrick started drumming in the 1960s, at the age of six, banging furiously on the kitchen floor with two of his mum's coat hangers, to a beat on the radio. Even at this early age Derrick knew that drumming was the one thing he really wanted to do. At the age of ten, Derrick was inspired by a friend playing in a reggae band.

Jamiroquai (/ dʒ ə ˈ m ɪr ə k w aɪ / ⓘ jə-MIRR-ə-kwy) are an English funk and acid jazz band from London. Formed in 1992, they are fronted by vocalist Jay Kay, and were prominent in the London-based funk and acid jazz movement of the 1990s.They built on their acid jazz sound in their early releases and later drew from rock, disco, electronic and Latin music genres.
