  4. Harewood House (/ ˈ h ɑːr w ʊ d / HAR-wuud, / ˈ h ɛər-/ HAIR-) is a country house in Harewood, West Yorkshire, England. Designed by architects John Carr and Robert Adam , it was built, between 1759 and 1771, for Edwin Lascelles, 1st Baron Harewood , a wealthy West Indian plantation and slave owner .

It is also home to superb Thomas Chippendale furniture and a world class collection of paintings by, amongst others, JMW Turner, Joshua Reynolds, Tiziano Veccelli (Titian) and Domenikos Theotokopoulos (known as El Greco).
