'The Ten Largest, Nº 5, Adulthood, Group IV' En 1908, Hilma se tomó un descanso de cuatro años para cuidar a su madre, que se había quedado ciega. En 1912 retomó ‘Los cuadros para el templo’, obra que terminó en 1915.

15 de oct. de 2018 · Then came “The Ten Largest” (1907), a sensational suite of immense works in tempera on paper glued to canvas. Each measures more or less ten and a half feet high by nearly eight feet wide.
The sheer size of “The Ten Largest” sets them apart from the artist’s other works. In a gigantic 3.28×2.40 metre format, Hilma af Klint celebrates the four ages of humanity: Childhood, Youth, Adulthood and Old Age.
La serie de «Los Diez Más Grandes» (o «Los Diez Mayores») son las obras más ambiciosas de Hilma af Klint. Son estudios sublimes, abstractos y monumentales sobre la vida humana, representando el paso de la niñez hasta la vejez.
A considerable body of her abstract work predates the first purely abstract compositions by Kandinsky. She belonged to a group called "The Five", a circle of women inspired by Theosophy who shared a belief in the importance of trying to contact the so-called "High Masters"—often by way of séances.
