Eugenia Phelan, more commonly known as Skeeter, is a main character of The Help. She is portrayed by Emma Stone. Skeeter is a wide-eyed and naïve graduate from Ole' Miss who has ambitions of becoming a great novelist.
While interviewing the maids, Skeeter begins to understand more fully the racism that is deeply entrenched in her family, her friends, and society as a whole. The lessons Skeeter learns from the maids help her make a personal transformation as well.
