24 de may. de 2024 · The first automobile to be mass produced in the United States was the 1901 Curved Dash Oldsmobile, built by the American car manufacturer Ransom Eli Olds (1864-1950). Olds invented the basic concept of the assembly line and started the Detroit area automobile industry.
Arguably the first American car was built by Oliver Evans in 1805. He had received the first U. S. patent in 1789. The car that Evans built was amphibious and could travel on land by wheels or water by paddlewheels.
