The Rusting Hulks are one of the Squads from Into The Breach. They consist of the Jet Mech, Rocket Mech and Pulse Mech and are unlockable for 2 coins. The Rusting Hulks are designed to spew damaging, electrified smoke with the Jet and Rocket Mechs.
Rusting Hulk's are easily my favorite as well. Great initial damage (with upgrades), a means of cancelling enemy action, great sustained damage over time and fantastic board/map control. Agreed with others that the rocket mech is the best in the game. Capable of hitting 3 enemies, drops smoke and pushes all at once.
Put him in the jet mech, and you can upgrade either the attack's range or Silica first, just be sure to upgrade both once you upgrade storm gen. That combo (double jump, smoking upto four tiles at once) works wonders. You would never need the extra damage on the Jet.
So I unlock and try Rusting Hulks... and I am not even able to beat 2 islands without getting into some disastrous situation where I lose most of my energy bars. I am completely incompetent playing with the mech squad that everyone else says is the strongest.
