Originally built in the early 1930’s and formerly a federally sponsored church operated residential school, the College now houses college and university programs for area residents. In 2020, Blue Quills celebrated 50 years as Canada’s first Indigenous controlled education centre.
University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills (University nn Blue Quills, formerly Blue Quills Education Centre and Blue Quills First Nations College (BQFNC)) is a First Nations owned and operated university in Canada, the first of its kind in the country.
Commonly known as Blue Quills or Mahogany Duns, they include some of the first mayflies to hatch in the Spring and some of the last to finish in the Fall. In the East and Midwest, their small size (16 to 20, but mostly 18's) makes them difficult to match with old techniques.

19 de abr. de 2023 · Ground-penetrating radar found 19 sites that could be unmarked burial plots at the former Blue Quills Residential School, a Roman Catholic-run institution that operated from 1891 to 1970. The search was guided by survivor testimonies and aims to honour the children who never returned home.
