Paul Weller nació el 25 de mayo del año 1958 en la población de Woking, Surrey (Inglaterra), hijo de John y Ann Weller. En el año 1972 actuó por primera vez en público junto a su amigo Steve Brookes, interpretando principalmente canciones acústicas. Fue en la Sheerwater Secondary School de su localidad natal.
