This is a list of confirmed deaths in every season and episode of Banshee. These are people who weren't confirmed dead or last seen in perilous situations. Some characters may have died before a season started and are listed down here too.
A banshee (/ ˈ b æ n ʃ iː / BAN-shee; Modern Irish bean sí, from Old Irish: ben síde [bʲen ˈʃiːðʲe], "woman of the fairy mound" or "fairy woman") is a female spirit in Irish folklore who heralds the death of a family member, usually by screaming, wailing, shrieking, or keening.
2 de oct. de 2022 · In one tale, the banshee is the ghost of a girl who died violently and comes back to warn the family when such a death is about to occur again. In others, the old banshee’s red eyes and screams torture the living.
21 de jun. de 2024 · Banshee, (“woman of the fairies”) supernatural being in Irish and other Celtic folklore whose mournful “keening,” or wailing screaming or lamentation, at night was believed to foretell the death of a member of the family of the person who heard the spirit. In Ireland banshees were believed to warn.
13 de dic. de 2015 · One of the best-known cases occurred on February 21, 1437. An Irish seer who predicted the monarch’s assassination by the Duke of Atholl approached King James I of Scotland. Not long after this approach, the king found himself trapped inside a sewer tunnel where he was fatally injured.
