7 de sept. de 2023 · The ABCDE approach is used to systematically assess an acutely unwell patient. It involves working through the following steps: Airway; Breathing; Circulation; Disability; Exposure; Each stage of the ABCDE approach involves clinical assessment, investigations and interventions.
The approach to all deteriorating or critically ill patients is the same. The underlying principles are: Use the Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Exposure (ABCDE) approach to assess and treat the patient.
