Carla Gallo (Daisy) was actually heavily pregnant during that episode. When her agent was called and informed them she was pregnant, they decided to write it into the show, because they felt that she needed to be there for his death regardless.
Gallo announced she was six months pregnant with her first child, in April 2014, at the L.A. premiere of Neighbors. She gave birth to a daughter in the summer of 2014. She gave birth to her second daughter in May 2017.
