Coordinates: 51.6436°N 0.1472°W. Hornsey College of Art, also known as HCA, founded in 1880 as the Hornsey School of Arts, was an art school in Crouch End, part of Hornsey, Middlesex, England. From 1965 it was in the London Borough of Haringey.
Hornsey College of Art. Hornsey School of Arts was established in 1882 by Charles Swinstead, an artist and teacher who lived in Crouch End, Hornsey. With business in mind, he had already founded and run an art school in Hackney known then as the North London School of Art.

Our history has been made by different London schools and colleges coming together, like St Katharine's College, a teacher training institute founded in 1878, and the iconic Hornsey College of Art. We became Middlesex Polytechnic in 1973, with a radical new way of learning focused on practical skills, and then Middlesex University in 1992.
