Schwäbisch Gmünd es una ciudad del estado federado alemán Baden-Württemberg, situada a unos 50 km de la capital Stuttgart. Es, tras Aalen, la segunda mayor ciudad en cuanto a número de habitantes del distrito de Ostalb. Fue ciudad imperial libre, hasta su anexión al Electorado de Wurtemberg en 1803.
Schwäbisch Gmünd ( German pronunciation: [ˈʃvɛːbɪʃ ˈɡmʏnt], until 1934: Gmünd; Swabian: Gmẽẽd or Gmend) is a city in the eastern part of the German state of Baden-Württemberg. With a population of around 60,000, the city is the second largest in the Ostalb district and the whole East Württemberg region after Aalen.
Set in the picturesque foothills of the Swabian Alb and Dreikaiserberge mountains, Schwäbisch Gmünd enjoys an almost Mediterranean quality of life. It is situated in the centre of southern Germany in Ostalbkreis, a district in the region of East Württemberg, 50 km from the state capital of Stuttgart.
