Nikšić (Montenegrin: Никшић, pronounced [nîkʃit͡ɕ]), is the second largest city in Montenegro, with a total population of 56,970 (2011 census) located in the west of the country, in the centre of the spacious Nikšić field at the foot of Trebjesa Hill.

Nikšić es la segunda ciudad más grande de Montenegro. Su situación, en un cruce de caminos entre los distintos territorios vecinos, la convirtió en un enclave estratégico desde su misma fundación, como fortificación romana, en el siglo IV.
