The Xeelee Sequence (/ ˈ z iː l iː /; ZEE-lee) is a series of hard science fiction novels, novellas, and short stories written by British science fiction author Stephen Baxter.
The Xeelee Sequence is a series of novels and short stories which span several billions of years, describing the future expansion of Mankind, its war with its arch-nemesis (an alien race called the Xeelee), and the Xeelee's own war with dark matter entities called photino birds.
The Xeelee are a hyper-advanced species from Stephen Baxter's Xeelee Sequence. They were first remotely mentioned in the 1986 short story "The Xeelee Flower", and were later central actors of several novels and a substantial number of short stories.
