Nick later stumbles into a confrontation between Moss and The Party Crasher, during which he saves Moss's life. The Party Crasher is wounded, taken to an ambulance, but he kills several people and escapes. Nick briefly captures him, radioing their location before he is knocked out.
Party Crasher's death. The Party Crasher, still alive, manages to overpower and kill the ambulance crew before hiding in Nick's car. When Nick gets into the vehicle, the Party Crasher holds him at gunpoint and forces him to drive him to safety, but Nick takes the killer by surprise by driving at full speed and crashing the car.

When Moss is thrown off the truck and nearly killed, The Party Crasher escapes, and Moss is taken off the case.
