Robert Motherwell (Aberdeen, Washington, 24 de enero de 1915 – 16 de julio de 1991) fue un pintor estadounidense y una figura destacada del expresionismo abstracto. Fue uno de los miembros más jóvenes de la llamada New York School (Escuela de Nueva York), que también incluía a Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko y Willem de Kooning.

Robert Motherwell (January 24, 1915 – July 16, 1991) was an American abstract expressionist painter, printmaker, and editor of The Dada Painters and Poets: an Anthology. He was one of the youngest of the New York School , which also included Willem de Kooning , Jackson Pollock , and Mark Rothko .
