12 de jun. de 2017 · Having massed the body with luminous shadings, Rembrandt proceeded to create a sense of its volume by drawing vigorously with dark, heavy strokes to indicate the contours of the back and shoulder, the folds of drapery, and the deepest shadows.
The most obvious aspect of Rembrandt’s late style is that the brushwork is, in general, broader. Individual brushstrokes sometimes remain visible, although the differentiation in the brushwork is extraordinary.
