In the 2007 film, Raphael has a very big role and he is shown to be fighting crime as an alter ego called the Nightwatcher. Leonardo disapproves of this, and this causes their rivalry. Eventually, Raphael controls his anger and during the fight he refuses to kill his brother.
Raphael, nicknamed Raph, is a superhero and one of the four main characters of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and all related media. In most iterations, he is depicted as the most aggressive of the turtle brothers, physically the strongest, and often at odds with his brother, Leonardo.
Nightwatcher is a superhero/vigilante in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles incarnations. The role is normally associated with Raphael, but other characters have donned the costume.
While all Ninja Turtles are selectable in most stages of TMNT (Game Boy Advance), Raphael is the obligatory player character in stages 1 and 3, as they represent his escapades as Nightwatcher. At the beginning of both stages, he appears briefly in his Nightwatcher armor, on his motorcycle.
Raphael : [Leonardo has knocked off the Nightwatcher's helmet, and reveals that the Nightwatcher is actually Raphael. Ralpael mule-kicks him away from him] You are SO smug, y'know that?
As the Nightwatcher, Raph patrols the city. Leo, not recognizing his brother, pursues the Nightwatcher, believing him to be just a regular thug. In the ensuing fight, Leo discovers that the Nightwatcher's identity was Raphael all along.
