A Fata Morgana (Italian: [ˌfata morˈɡaːna]) is a complex form of superior mirage visible in a narrow band right above the horizon. The term Fata Morgana is the Italian translation of "Morgan the Fairy" ( Morgan le Fay of Arthurian legend).
