Having picked up his first violin at age 4, DAVID GARRETT studied with Zahkar Bron and Ida Haendel to name a few. His extraordinary, multifaceted talent was spotted early on: as a child prodigy, DAVID GARRETT made his stage debut at the age of 10 and became the youngest-ever artist to sign with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon at the age of 13.
Born: 4 September 1980 in Aachen, Germany. German-American classical violinist and recording artist. Adopted his mothers name, Garrett, as his performance name. Garrett holds a record as the worlds fastest violin player, being able to perform 13 notes in a single second.
In an attempt to imitate his big brother David snatched up his violin when he was four years old and taught himself how to play the instrument on his own. Soon his parents discovered their younger son's talent and made sure he got proper tutors.
