1 de ago. de 1991 · Plants play a role in the host selection strategy of Campoletis sonorensis, an ichneumonid parasitoid that attacks the larval stages of a number of plant-feeding lepidoptera. We examine the early host selection behavior of C. sonorensis in response to plants and the herbivores that serve as hosts.
Campoletis sonorensis was cultured in vitro from egg to third-instar larvae by Hu and Vinson (1997a). Several tissue culture media were tested and TNM-FH proved to be the most suitable for egg hatching and further larval development.
