Darwyn Cooke (November 16, 1962 – May 14, 2016) was a Canadian comics artist, writer, cartoonist, and animator who worked on the comic books Catwoman, DC: The New Frontier, The Spirit and Richard Stark's Parker: The Hunter.
14 de may. de 2016 · On Saturday, Cooke's family announced that the artist had died at age 53 from cancer, an illness his wife Marsha Cooke disclosed on the artist's website the day before.

Darwyn forged a solid career in animation, but he became restless in his thirties. His childhood dream of becoming a comic book artist weighed on him.
